So my dog, Dormouse, saved some one's life today. Here's the rundown. She's quite the adventurer/escape artist . I even paid for a new fence (even though I really wanted a bathtub) to keep this from happening. So today, I went to check on her and she was long gone, last I saw her she was sleeping in front on the back door (I always leave it open when I'm home during the day) like usual. I get the leash to go look for her and my neighbor is bringing her back to me. He is the nicest guy and is a total character, he needs his own reality show.
Usually, he is a happy go-lucky guy, but he looked serious. He told me he had to show me something. I thought she'd destroyed something, but he showed me a dead
rattlesnake.
Apparently, his garage was open so Dormouse just decided to go inside. The door from the garage to the house was open, so she just went in there too. She took a short tour through his house (she is so embarrasing, I'm a failure as a pet owner!) and went on into his backyard. My neighbor and his son were in the backyard heard her tags jingling and turned around to notice her. I guess her presence made him notice that he was incredibly too close to a rattlesnake! He was so grateful he brought her a econo-sized bag of Beggin' Strips and Halloween Daisies. I thought it was funny.
