This is Mr. Bobby, Yo-yo and I made him. He's constructed from a baby mitten (technicalities aside, it's a glove but I think the term glove is for grown-ups, not babies). He's filled with popcorn kernels, so don't put him in the microwave.
Sarah has the magazine with better instructions. She also let me use her supplies. We didn't have buttons, but its says to glue them on the bottom of the "tentacles" to represent the suction cups.
- Find a buddy-less glove or get a new pair.
- Tuck in the thumb of the glove and sew it shut.
- Fold in the cuff and fill the glove with popcorn kernels or uncooked rice.
- Sew around the edge of the cuff (don't sew the sides together or you'll end up with something that looks like a chicken plume)
- Pull the string tight so you have a ball shape.
- Sew or glue pom-pom on the top of it's head.
- Pinch a pleat on the back of the glove and sew it so that it brings the "legs" back a bit.
- Cut a mouth shape out of fabric and glue it on the "face". I folded the fabric in half and made a half of a valentine heart shape.
- Glue on a pair of googly eyes.
- Glue a pom-pom on top of each "tentacle"
